7/26/2023 0 Comments Audiobook builder serial![]() ![]() Last night, I finished listening to the fourth Dresden Files audiobook, so now I’m done with the four-book set that I started back in January. I don’t plan on getting rid of the stereo, but it’s interesting to think about how my listening habits have changed. I don’t really listen to CDs anymore, and I don’t really use my little Volumio box anymore either. And I route Apple Music through the Sonos, because that’s the easiest way to do it. I listen to the radio through the Sonos Ones now, since it’s much easier than trying to pick up over-the-air radio here. It occurs to me that, if I stop using the stereo for TV sound, then I’ll have pretty much stopped using the stereo entirely. (Maybe I could find a DAC with a digital in, analog out, and digital passthru out. If I do, it’ll be a bit of a pain, since I’ll need to reach behind the TV and move the audio cable from the Sonos to the DAC that I use to bridge from the TV’s digital out to the stereo’s analog input. I’m not sure if I’ll be tempted to switch back to the old stereo speakers for movies or other stuff where I want the best possible sound. But those are probably overkill for most TV. Overall, I’d say that the sound quality is better than the TV speakers, but not quite as good as my big old stereo speakers. I can set the volume or mute it easily from my TV remote (or my TiVo or Apple TV remotes). Setting it up to work with my TV remote was easy too. In theory, I can stream music to it, the same as to the Ones, but I think I’m just going to use it for the TV. It’s set up as a separate target from the Sonos One pair. The Sonos app recognized it on the first try and added it to my system. The Ray showed up yesterday, and was quite easy to set up. I use those often to listen to the radio, and sometimes for Apple Music. I’m already in the Sonos ecosystem, having bought a Sonos One in 2018, and a second one a bit later, which I have configured as a stereo pair. Routing through the stereo works well, but it’s a little bit of a pain, since it requires some button-pressing, and since I have no way of adjusting volume without getting up off my couch. Up until now, I’d been using the built-in speakers for everyday use, and switching to my big old-fashioned stereo for movies or anything else where I wanted good sound. I figured it would be a good way to get better sound out of my TV, without too much hassle. I’d been thinking about buying one for a while, but hadn’t previously talked myself into it. So I guess the “points” thing is actually a pretty good option, since it allows me to pick out something cool that I actually want. For the second option, they probably would have given me a nice pen or watch or something that I didn’t want or need. For that first option, the money would have just gone into my bank account, and I would have forgotten about it. The two other likely options would have been (a) just giving me an extra $300 in my paycheck, or (b) giving me some random corporate gift. At first, I thought this system was overly complicated and kind of dumb, but when I thought about it, I guess it’s better than the obvious alternatives. 2000 points seems to equal somewhere around $300. SHI uses a service that has an online catalog of random stuff that you can pick. For my ten year anniversary at SHI, I got 2000 points to spend on a gift for myself. ![]()

7/26/2023 0 Comments Mario party advance gba rom cool![]() The minigames, as the case always is with a Mario Party game, are quite fun to play and these single-player outings are not worse for their lack of extra players. This is where the majority of the game fell short for me. Yes, instead of collecting stars, Mario and his friends are out collecting and completing quests, such as "Bring me a DvD" (I'm not joking). ![]() Each victory allows you more dice rolls which means a greater potential to complete the games multiple quests. ![]() The challenge, then, of this game comes not from beating out your three other opponents, but from beating the clock, beating the computer, beating whatever obstacle is placed in your way throughout the course of your session. Instead, you simply play to keep on playing, with each win in a mini-game adding to your stash of dice rolls so that you can move your character around the board (by him/herself) to tackle fetch or other types of quests (by him/herself). Gone are the competitions for coins and stars. To their credit, the developers of Mario Party Advance understood that there would have to be some fundamental changes in the game coming from a multiplayer-centric design ala the previous Mario Party games and going into a solo world. But on the GameBoy Advance, a device built for solo play, how will the Mario Party Franchise hold up on its own? The answer is a mixed bag. Most of these games have taken place on consoles, where multiplayer could support a somewhat flimsy single-player mode. ![]() Mario Party Advance Review by: kabenon007 - 7/10 Mario Party Advanced: Doesn't Advance The Mario Party series is a staple of Nintendo, first debuting on the N64, and quickly becoming a behemoth of a franchise, with iterations on every Nintendo system since, as well as holding the record for the longest running mini-game series around. ![]() 7/26/2023 0 Comments Shareware windat opener![]() ![]() ![]() Ray White on Office Interop DCOM Config on a Windows Server IIS Machine to open Word, Excel and Access files with ASP.Ryan on Office Interop DCOM Config on a Windows Server IIS Machine to open Word, Excel and Access files with ASP.NET C#.Priya Sinha on Things to consider when hiring Angular Developers.Like operator for integer on LIKE operator equivalent for integer / numeric value Columns in a SQL (or T-SQL) Database.Suren S M on AsyncUtil - C# Helper class to run async methods as sync and vice-versa ytnef is a program to work with procmail to decode TNEF streams (winmail.dat attachments) like those created with Outlook.Ryan on ASP.NET Core Server.MapPath equivalent.Clavell Clavell on ASP.NET Core Server.MapPath equivalent.Mergl, built as a replacement of the almost-identical (and now discontinued) LookOut by Aron Rubin. The infotainment system sports Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, satellite radio, and integrated navigation. Interior niceties include semi-aniline leather, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, manual rear side sunshades, six USB ports, and wireless charging pad. The front seats will cool your backside while you’re enjoying the fine 12-speaker audio system, and drivers benefit from a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, head-up display with road sign recognition, and power-adjustable steering wheel. Sitting atop the lineup, this Platinum gets all the bells and whistles. Another handy Pathfinder feature is its capless fuel filler. This nine-inch touchscreen boasts large touch points, a row of hard menu buttons below, and is high in the driver’s sightline. The stubby electronic shift wand works with easy precision and the menu structure of the infotainment system is intuitive. ![]() A tuning knob enables safe and easy station cruising, and the rotary controllers for cabin temperature are flanked with buttons for front seat heating and cooling. We’re giving the 2022 Pathfinder high marks for its new cabin design that not only looks nicely upscale, but is also blessed with a plethora of well-marked buttons and knobs for controlling HVAC and infotainment functions. Standard with the Platinum is a tow hitch receiver and harness, enabling a segment-leading 2,722-kg (6,000-lb) towing capacity. With a nod to its rugged roots, this new Pathfinder comes with a seven-setting terrain management system – auto, sport, eco, snow, sand, mud/ruts, and tow. There’s a generously sized covered cubby between the seats, a nifty slot running under the glove box, and more storage under the floating console. Bonus.įront cabin storage is well thought out. The new Pathfinder is a step up from the previous model when it comes to practicality. The differences between them is that multiplayer means people can play with you and the character is checked for cheating on the servers, while single player is for staying offline and playing on your own. Torchlight III splits its single and multiplayer across two saves, so be careful when going about what you want to do in the game, as once a character is created they are stuck on that playing option. ![]() In Torchlight III, I do not think people will be bothered and instead will focus on just playing the game for action. Action RPGs do not live or die by their story, but it is always nice to get invested in their story, world or lore. Will you care for the game’s story? Probably not, it is quite throwaway, with a few key character friendlies that delivery quests or enemies that will be forgotten as soon as you give them a beat down. As for the story, it is told through short cutscenes and discoverable audio logs. What this means is the player is tasked to protect the world once again. I think it was fair to say fans did not like this new direction for the series, so the feedback was received and the developers renamed the game to Torchlight III and dropped the free-to-play direction and went for the traditional paid release that people enjoyed with the previous two entries.Ĭontinuing from the events of Torchlight II, this sequel takes place 100 years later where Novastraia is in danger from the Netherim, demonic creatures that invade dimensions to destroy any opposition that want to stop them. ![]() After forming a new team with ex-staff who had previous experience in the genre, named Echtra Games, the studio went ahead to create a new Torchlight, but was going for a massively multiplayer online shared gaming world that would be free-to-play and offer games as a service and micro-transactions support to keep it flowing with new content. Formerly pitched as Torchlight Frontiers, the game was continuing the action RPG series with one of the original founders of Runic Games (developers of Torchlight and Torchlight II), Max Schaefer. At certain points in the game this merciless, invincible killing machine will hunt you around the station with grim persistence. Then there's the Tyrant, a hulking great mutant in a trench coat (and a hat, which you can shoot off) for whom gunfire is little more than a minor inconvenience. But it also teaches you a hard lesson that every bullet in this remake is precious, and if you can slip past an enemy rather than killing it, you probably should. The station is essentially a giant box of puzzles, and an absence of objective markers, beyond a few marked points of interest, means you have to draft a mental map as you play. The building itself is a labyrinth of blind corners, shadowy recesses, and warren-like corridors, creating a constant feeling of apprehension and unease. ![]() Some parts of the station have been plunged into darkness, forcing you to pick through the gloom with a flashlight. Okay, I assume you’re reading this because you have some interest in emulating a vintage Mac on your own computer. In fact, the emulator has to deliberately delay execution of machine instructions to run slow enough not to alter the behaviour of the emulated Mac. My HP laptop has an 8 processor 1.8 GHz Intel i7 CPU running at around 54 BIPS (maxes out at 61 BIPS).
